Fleeing the north!

The now infamous Policy Exchange report - the one that urged people to flee the north, you may remember - is still igniting passions.
David Cameron thought it so incendiary he immediately disowned it because of the think-tank's close links with the party.
But on the conference fringe last night, the report found a defender - albeit a Fellow of Policy Exchange.
Jesse Norman, who also happens to be a Tory parliamentary candidate, said - shock, horror - it was all the media's fault for misunderstanding the report. The whole thing has got "astoundingly out of proportion", apparently.
"If it had said what was said of it, it would have been completely different," he said. "What it was was a much more subtle, thoughtful analysis" of the way public cash has been spent.
Thankfully, straight-talking Yorkshireman Eric Pickles, the Shadow Local Government Secretary, was also on the panel.
"I'm sure it was thoughtful and subtle, but sadly in my speed reading I missed those points," he said. You're not the only one, Eric.
